Our Second Annual ScholarOne Manuscripts User Conference in China
More than 50 ScholarOne Manuscripts customers gathered to meet with ScholarOne staff, industry experts, and each other at our 2011 ScholarOne Manuscripts China User Conference at the famous Qingdao resort. The conference included speaker presentations, training, and even a visit to the well-known Laoshan Scenic Spots.
On Day One our speakers shared their experiences on ScholarOne and best practices on journal operation, which led to a detailed discussion on how to “work smart” when running an academic journal. Our attendees were inspired by the topics and tips provided by our speakers and many side discussions were spurred on as fellow users traded their own tips and tricks.
We were honored the Higher Education Press accepted our invitation to speak at the conference. As a power user of ScholarOne Manuscripts with 7 sites, we felt HEP could provide sound advice to a number of our users. Lu Shannian spoke on Operation and Management in China, providing a relevant national focus for many of our attendees.
During the morning of the second day, most attendees participated in onsite training. Topic ranged from effectively using your time with ScholarOne to how to create submission monitoring reports using Cognos to analyzing the performance of editors and reviewers.
Finally, at the conference we had the opportunity to unveil the new customer platform we recently created. This forum allows our users to make friends, share experiences and learn from each other to get the most out of their ScholarOne Manuscripts platform.
We want to thank all of our attendees for a fruitful and enjoyable Second Annual ScholarOne Manuscripts User Conference in China. The positive feedback we received, especially on the training sessions, helps us continue to deliver the types of forums and activities you find most valuable.
