Philadelphia, PA USA, June 4, 2008
The Scientific business of Thomson Reuters today announced that Taylor & Francis, a leading international academic and scientific publisher, has increased its current contract to license Manuscript Central for the online peer-review management of an additional 470 journals worldwide. The total number of 770 journals that will be using Manuscript Central span across the scientific, technical, medical, humanities and social science disciplines.
Taylor & Francis is well known as a global scientific and academic publisher, annually publishing over 1350 journals for customers working as researchers, students, academics, and professionals. Manuscript Central has become the preferred manuscript submission and peer review vendor for Taylor & Francis, tightly integrating with their current workflow, including seamless connection with its in-house electronic and production systems.
Dr. David Green, Global Journals Publishing Director at Taylor & Francis, said: "Manuscript Central provides a robust front-end to our fully online workflow. Its popularity with our editor and author communities, coupled with its flexibility in integrating with our industry-leading CATS production tracking system, means that we are now able to provide best-in-class service to more than half of our journals program — and this will continue until we have a fully digital workflow in our whole business. The acceleration of this program is due in no small part to the excellent service that we have received from the ScholarOne team."
"We are thrilled that our partnership with Taylor & Francis, one of the world leaders in providing global information resources, continues to grow and expand," said Keith MacGregor, EVP Academic and Government Markets, Thomson Reuters. "Combined with their unparalleled expertise we will continue to drive innovation and advancement in the STM, humanities and social science fields."
